The Prestige Auto Group, the new representative of Mercedes-Benz in Argentina, launched the refreshed Vito and CLA. These are the first new products since the company took control of the German automaker's operations .

Last Thursday, the company launched its Mercedes-Benz operations, announcing a 4% price cut for the Sprinter , the utility vehicle it will continue to manufacture at the historic Virrey del Pino plant until 2030.

During the double launch, held at the Juan Manuel Fangio Museum in the city of Balcarce (Buenos Aires province), Daniel Herrero , CEO of Prestige Auto, spoke with Clarín and confirmed the import of more models in the short term to double its offering in the premium segment .

Herrero, former president of Toyota Argentina, also spoke about plans to expand Sprinter production from 16,000 units (planned for this year) to 20,000 by 2026, and confirmed a US$100 million investment for "plant improvements and some production processes that need to be automated to make them more efficient."

The company plans to expand the Sprinter family by adding options with automatic transmission, all-wheel drive, and customized options (motorhome, ambulance) directly from the factory.

The model that was manufactured in Argentina between 2015 and 2019, and then imported sparingly until being discontinued in 2023, has returned thanks to Prestige Auto.

This is a refresh of the third generation, imported from Spain in two versions: the Mixed Van and the Tourer.

The Mixed Van variant, which has a five-seat configuration, is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbodiesel engine with 136 horsepower and 330 Nm of torque.

The Tourer, which now has 10 seats (two more than the previous model), is powered by a 2.0-litre twin-turbodiesel engine with 190 hp and 440 Nm of torque.

They are two engines that comply with Euro 6 regulations and that need to be loaded with urea (24 liters) to reduce the environmental impact.

Both engines are paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission (with torque converter) and rear-wheel drive.

Both versions feature a revamped interior, more equipment, and improved technology. Among the highlights, the Mixed Van features a multimedia screen with the MBUX system that allows wireless integration of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also features a wireless cell phone charger, a rearview camera, blind spot alert, and crosswind assist.

Meanwhile, the Vito Tourer offers six airbags (only two in the Mixed Van), pre-collision warning with autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, driver fatigue detection, and double side doors with electric opening and closing.

The Mercedes-Benz Vito Mixed Van is offered at $64,436 , while the Vito Tourer costs $80,000.

This is another model returning to the German brand's portfolio in our country. This second generation comes in a single version (the 200 Progressive), priced at $63,500.

The new CLA is equipped with a 1.3-liter turbocharged engine, delivering 163 horsepower and mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission.

According to the company, this mechanical assembly allows it to reach a maximum speed of 229 km/h and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.4 seconds .

In terms of equipment, it comes standard with 18-inch wheels, a panoramic sunroof, a digital dashboard and multimedia screen (both 10.25 inches), wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and various driver assistance systems, among others.
